Corona virus update and how this impacts us:
We wanted wish everyone well and hoping you are all staying safe and healthy! With all the uncertainty of what is happening right now and in order to practice social distancing, we are doing our adoptions a bit different right now. For those applications that are shortlisted we will still be doing a mandatory home visit. ( We need to physically go to the home) we will chat with you outside that way we can meet you face-to-face and go over everything in regards to each animal. And then we would need to be able to do a quick run through your home. We will wear gloves and a mask and be as quick as possible. And then we can go back outside and continue our conversation. Unfortunately you won’t be able to go to the home where the animals are being fostered. For dogs you would need to meet in a safe and common area. For cats you will either have to just meet the cat in a carrier outside or do a foster-to-adopt. That way you can just take the cat home with you and make sure it’s a good fit and then we will finalize the adoption at a later date. Unfortunately this is the only way we can make it possible to keep all of our foster home safe.
Please note as well, since we are located in Victoria British Columbia. And home visits are mandatory for all adoptions. Depending on where you live and how far away, we only adopt locally and on the island. We can sometimes make exceptions further up the island if we have a volunteer or are able to get up that way to do the home visit.
** We are based in Victoria BC, Canada on Vancouver Island
– we have no shelter all our animals are placed in foster homes so please go to adoption processes page to find out more.
